    Seit er 1995 mit seinem bahnbrechenden ersten Album Ledbetter Heights aus den Bluesclubs von Louisiana auf die globale Musikszene stürmte, gefolgt von seinem für seine Karriere entscheidenden zweiten Album Trouble Is… im Jahr 1997, hat Kenny Wayne Shepherd jeden Abend auf der Bühne klassische Stücke in kühne neue Formen verwandelt. Die Tracks von Trouble Is… waren immer in Bewegung und wurden nie zu Museumsstücken.

    Aber einem ein Vierteljahrhundert alten Album eine zweite Geburt zu geben, ist eine andere Sache. Als der fünffach für einen Grammy nominierte und mehrfach mit Platin ausgezeichnete Künstler das 25-jährige Jubiläum von Trouble Is… am Horizont sah, heckte er einen kühnen Plan aus, um den Bogen von dem hungrigen 18-jährigen Revolverhelden, der 1997 den Blitz in der Flasche fing, zu dem immer noch auf der Suche befindlichen Meistermusiker zu spannen, der die Seele seines Lebens in den Fingern hat. Die alte Crew von den ursprünglichen Sessions in der Record Plant in Sausalito, Kalifornien, zusammenzubringen und das Tracklisting neu anzugehen. Und um alteingesessene Fans und neue Hörer daran zu erinnern, wie dieses Album den modernen Blues neu entfacht hat.
