With liner notes by Mike Ragogna and Joe Grushecky with special track-by-track remarks by Joe Grushecky.
Joe Grushecky grew up in the coal mining town of Biddle, Pittsburgh, but after seeing the Beatles on the Ed Sullivan Show, he soon had a guitar in his hand and a future in rock ahead of him. Joe worked as a special education teacher during the day while his band, the Iron City Houserockers, performed at night. They were signed to Cleveland International (home of Meat Loaf, Jim Steinman and Ronnie Spector) by Steve Popovich in 1979. From the first album "Love's So Tough" to the present day, Joe has released solo and with various incarnations of the Houserockers albums of hard-hitting rock and lyrics that stay true to their Pittsburgh Steeltown roots. Albums have included production and contributions from Ian Hunter (Mott The Hoople), Mick Ronson (David Bowie), Steve Van Zandt, Bruce Springsteen, Steve Cropper (Booker T. & The MG's) and many others. In the 40 years of his career, Joe has always found a balance between his passion for helping people in need and his energetic rock, while pushing boundaries on other fronts.
