Hege Saugstad - Randy´s Home (2025) [Official Digital Download]

Hege received lots of good feedback as a young jazz vocalist, but it is now, many years later that she is finally making her own jazz album. It contains standard songs and a tribute to the journalist Randi Hultin, composed by Phil Woods. (Randi’s name is written with an ‘i’, however Phil Woods always used a ‘y’, making it Randy.) Randi was very well known throughout the world as a journalist in the jazz industry. Hege and Randi became good friends and Randi opened up stages and collaborations for Hege outside her own home county Østfold, south-east Norway. This friendship unfortunately never resulted in any recording. Life took a new serious direction for both of them. Randi died in March, 2000 and Hege got the urge to write and release her own music, singing in Norwegian a little outside the jazz genre.
