The four-piece comic band from Great Britain was created by Blur singer Damon Albarn and comic artist Jamie Hewlett. In 2001, their debut album "Gorillaz" was released, which entered the Top 3 of the charts in Germany, Austria and Great Britain, among other countries. This was followed by six more internationally very successful albums. In March 2023, the band celebrated its 20th anniversary.

"Cracker Island" is the band's eighth studio album overall. It will be announced with the release of the new single "New Gold" on August 31. The single features Tame Impala - the psychedelic music project of Australian multi-instrumentalist Kevin Parker - and Bootie Brown of alternative hip-hop group The Pharcyde. The new album features other exciting collaborations with big names like Stevie Nicks of Fleetwood Mac, Beck and Thundercat.

The virtual band has exploded on TikTok, gaining over 2 million followers on the platform in just a few months, where they continue to innovate and take virtual characters where no character has gone before. Onward and boldly upward!
