The great diva of the Netherlands, Fay Claassen, has teamed up with the gifted Belgian singer, composer, lyricist and long-time Parisian DDavid Linx on "And Still We Sing"; a great collaboration with the WDR BIG BAND Cologne under the direction of MAGNUS LINDGREN. CLAASSEN brings her crystal-clear voice and adventurous scatting skills to the program and merges beautifully with LINX, the unique talent that has gained notoriety throughout Europe.

Produced by WDR tenor saxophonist (and CLAASSEN's husband) PAUL HELLER, "And Still We Sing" features ten outstanding big band arrangements by HELLER, LINDGREN, BOB MINTZER and MICHAEL ABENE.

Like all ensembles of the WDR, the WDR Big Band Köln is a cultural orchestra and cultural ambassador with the aim of bringing jazz and jazz-related music to its audience through broadcasts and concerts. At the same time, the international big band has a connection to the European tradition, especially to Jazz made in Europe. This integrative factor is always part of the extremely complex programme concept and is reflected in the cooperation with outstanding European vocal soloists. The Dutch jazz singer Fay Claassen and the Belgian jazz and chanson singer David Linx will take over the vocal parts at their concert in the Old Slaughterhouse. Claassen has released nine CDs under her own name and is a guest soloist on 17 other albums. She received excellent reviews for her project Two Portraits of Chet Baker. She gives workshops and regular masterclasses at the Conservatories of Amsterdam, Maastricht, Antwerp and is a principal lecturer in jazz singing at the Conservatory in Rotterdam; she gave masterclasses and concerts at the conferences of the International Association for Jazz Education (IAJE) in Los Angeles and New York.
