Elliott explores the emotions of fatherhood in real time by composing this new collection of solo piano pieces from the time of anticipation in the spring of '23 to the birth and beyond. From deep and meditative moments to playful and whimsical waltzes, Night Light is the perfect accompaniment for the journey of raising a child.

"Head Above The Clouds", one of the first tracks written for the album, captures the elation that Elliott felt when he learned that he and his partner were expecting a child.

"It's about the overwhelming joy and excitement that lifted my spirits," he explains, "and made me feel like I was floating above the clouds. It is a moment of pure bliss and anticipation of the future. It puts me back in that moment, in the joy and overwhelm, when I learned that I was going to be a father.

"Becoming a father was so transformative, so life-changing. I started composing the music from January 2023 to June 2024. Over this long period of time, the process has felt incredibly authentic, as I have really lived every moment of it. The album really went through the whole journey and the little milestones along the way. There are many different, special moments in it.“
