Buddy Guy Announces New Album ‘Ain’t Done With The Blues’ Buddy Guy Announces New Album ‘Ain’t Done With The Blues’ and Shares New Single “How Blues Is That?” Feat Guitarist Joe Walsh A multi-Grammy Award-winning blues icon, Buddy Guy is widely regarded as an architect of the Blues—a pivotal artist whose innovative guitar work and raw vocal style helped shape the sound of modern R&B. He is here to tell the masses that he ‘Ain’t Done With The Blues’ via the announcement of his brand new album set to release via Silvertone/RCA Records on July 30, his 89th birthday.

“This album is about where I’ve been, it’s about where I’m going, and the people I learned everything from,” shares Buddy on the LP. “…Muddy, Wolf, Walter, Sonny Boy, BB, I could go on and on. Before they passed, they used to say, “Man, if you outlive me, just keep the Blues alive,” and I’m trying to keep that promise.” He continues, “Now, I can’t kick my leg up high as I used to, or jump off the stage like I did in my 20’s and 30’s, but I’m going to give you everything I got as long as I got it.”

The Rock & Roll Hall of Fame inductee Buddy Guy kicks off the lead up to his new album with the release of new single “How Blues Is That?’ featuring legendary Eagles’ guitarist, Joe Walsh and co-written with Grammy Award winning producer/songwriter Tom Hambridge and Richard Fleming. Amid the track, Buddy’s leading bold and affirming vocals give recall to his life and journey, while fervently building in tandem with Rob McNelley’s slick electric guitar and growing tickles of Kevin McKendree’s piano chords.

In true Buddy Guy fashion, “How Blues Is That?”, he opens with screaming guitar riffs, his vocals strong and powerful. He sings, “I’m from the back woods way down South, grew up living hand to mouth.” And as hair tweaks your arms, you know you’re in for the real deal with Mr. Buddy Guy. It wouldn’t be a blues rocker without Tom Hambridge sprinkling his magic on the keys and guitar legend Joe Walsh rolling in with his high voltage guitar and unmistakable vocals. Guy and Walsh together are firepower of this blues canon.
