For over a decade, Black Honey have been creating vibrant cinema worlds with their three albums, landing top 10 placements, playing concerts with IDLES, Liam Gallagher and The Libertines and touring tirelessly. The new album "Soak" is a completely different caliber than "A Fistful of Peaches" (2023), not to mention "Written and Directed" (2021) or the band's self-titled debut from 2018. After two years without alcohol and a thriving career as a tattoo artist, frontwoman Izzy Phillips is still a force of nature, but has found healthier valves for her boundless energy.

Of course, it was not easy, but the band is now reaping the fruits of their emotional labor and enjoying a deeper self-acceptance. About the album, Phillips says: "Soak is my processing of a decade full of touring and creating music and art as an addict. It's my engagement with the layers of messy, romantic, confusing, dazed, beautiful and fucked up things. Who I thought, who I was, who I should be and who looks at me today, everything is so different, but somehow I'm there for that.“
