Berlin Deutsches Symphony Orchestra - Berlioz: Symphonie fantastique; Lili Boulanger: D'un soir triste (2025) [24/48]

Conductor Nicolò Umberto Foron and the Deutsches Symphonie-Orchester announce their upcoming album on our partner label CAvi Music, on which they perform both Berlioz’s Symphonie fantastique and Lili Boulanger’s D’un soir triste.

“While both composers were in their 20s when composing these pieces, they showcase a distinct maturity of form and feeling. In my interpretation, I sought to emphasize their shared intensity: Berlioz’s fever journey and hallucination, and Boulanger’s luminous, restrained contemplation of the end. This recording may therefore be heard as a dialogue across a century between two young composers grappling with what inspiration means to them personally, under very different historical and emotional circumstances,” notes Foron.
