Beni Araki began her studies as a harpsichordist at the “Toho-Gakuen” in Tokyo. She continued her studies with Jos van Immerseel at the Royal Conservatory in Antwerp and attended master classes with Gustav Leonhardt and the organist Luigi F. Tagliavini. She completed her studies with “distinction”. Beni Araki lives in Berlin and pursues an active concert career. This includes engagements as a soloist with baroque orchestras such as Anima Eterna (Belgium), Streicher Akademie Bozen (Italy), Concerto Brandenburg (Berlin) and as a continuo player regular collaboration with various ensembles such as Akademie für Alte Musik Berlin, Lautten Compagney, Kammerakademie Potsdam, Deutsches Symphonie-Orchester and Berliner Philharmoniker. She is also a sought-after chamber music partner of soloists such as Albrecht Mayer, Sergio Azzolini, Andreas Buschatz, Sayako Kusaka and others, has appeared in television and radio concerts and performed at music festivals such as the Schleswig-Holstein Music Festival, the Bebersee Festival, the Musikwoche Hitzacker, the Osterfestspiel Baden-Baden, the Rheingau Music Festival and others. She has received several awards and scholarships including working scholarships from the Berlin Senate for Culture and Europe and the German Music Council. As a harpsichord and fortepiano pianist, she has been involved in numerous CD recordings (including Deutsche Grammophon, Sony, harmonia mund france, Hänssler Profil, Carpe Diem).such as the world premiere recordings of piano works by E.T.A. Hoffmann and Joseph Elsner as well as piano chamber music on the fortepiano or harpsichord music by Joaquin Rodrigo attest to her diverse musical activities. In 2018, the CD “Fortepiano Trios :Frédéric Chopin and Joseph Elsner” (Hänssler) was nominated for the German Record Critics’ Prize. Beni Araki is a lecturer at the Berlin University of the Arts.
