Ashish’s musical journey began at the tender age of 5 under the guidance of his father, Shri Satish Tare. Today, he continues to hone his artistry with the legendary Pt. Swapan Chaudhuri ji at the prestigious Ali Akbar College of Music. Ashish holds a Sangeet Visharad in Tabla from Akhil Bharatiya Gandharva Mahavidyalaya and a Master’s degree in Tabla from Solapur University — a testament to his deep dedication to the art.

Over the years, Ashish has had the honor of accompanying a host of celebrated artists from both the San Francisco Bay Area and India, including Prathamesh Laghate, Mugdha Vaishampayan, Shri Ganesh Desai, Smt. Rewa Natu, Pt. Himanshu Nanda, and Shri Ravindra Sathe, among many others.

His passion for performance has taken him to renowned festivals and competitions such as Maharashtra Mandal Ganeshutsav, Late Shri Madhav Tare Sangeet Mahotsav, Pt. Kashinath Bodas Music Festival, and Ud. Allarakha Birthday Festival. He has also made his mark in prestigious competitions like Chaitradhun, Satyadevi Memorial Trust, Crescendo, and Zee TV’s International Indian Icon — where he was named 1st Runner-Up in the Instrumental category, earning praise from Grand Master Bappi Lahiri himself.

Beyond performance, Ashish is equally passionate about nurturing the next generation of musicians. For over 13 years, he has been inspiring young talents at Tabla Niketan, where his students have consistently shined at local competitions and talent showcases.
