Angela Grey holds no punches. In a genre often heavy and esoteric, Angela brings a radical simplicity to her storytelling. The Filipino-American songwriter and jazz vocalist will be releasing her debut album, “Prisoner of Love” in April 2024. Recording in the heart of Paris at Zoot Studios (Peter Bernstein, Kirk Lightsey, Steve Williams), her quartet is inspired by the Nat King Cole Trio; piano, guitar and double bass.

Angela first cut her teeth in New York City after stepping foot in the notorious Small’s Jazz Club in the West Village at just 16 years old and has since moved to France, quickly becoming a regular on the Paris Jazz scene which include a regular slot at the infamous Duc Des Lombards. Raised from Manila to Manhattan, free-spirited and joyful, her soulful voice and warm timbre has been compared to the “Queen of the Blues”, Dinah Washington as well as shades of Amy Winehouse.
