'These suites are arguably the music that has accompanied me the longest, and that I have performed the most. Each time I play them, whether alone or in concert with an audience, something different in them resonates with me, and reflects who or what I am at that very point in time. Years of studying Baroque cello and these works in an academic context does not diminish their immediacy, their sense of timelessness, or their power to be a looking glass. To play them is an internal journey put on display. A vulnerable and daring moment that one must go through each and every time. This is not music for me to impose some definitive meaning on beyond the notes themselves. The space for interpretation is shared - mine and yours. And I believe more in embracing the mystery of the unknown, the abstract, the infinite inherent in the music. That is the greatness of these suites; they are, and will always be, an open question, eternally inviting us to listen, explore, and find ourselves within their single, ever-unfolding line.'
