Alasin was formed in Turku, Finland, year 2003 by Ville, Vesa and Tuukka. First the group had a female singer/bass-player, but it didn't work out, mainly because the different musical interests between the male and female members.
In the year 2004 Antti joined in to handle the four-string and the band found their musical course, which is a mix of simple, heavy riffs (like Trio Niskalaukaus) and progressive elements (like CMX). When Jani joined the band to take care of the singing duties, the band was ready to go.
Unfortunately Jani, Tuukka and Ville had to go through their mandatory military-service between years 2005-2006, which meant a "break" in the progress of the band.
