There is not much information to be found, so i give here what´s written on the back:

"At this stage of their careers, Velvet Glove (that's Ken Leary and Roger Spooner) are still songwriters who also sing… as opposed to singers who also write songs. Their first single "Sweet Was My Rose" Became THE record of summer ´74 in the most difficult market to break through for British artists, France. It spread from there. Since the success of "Rose", they´ve learned to be more selective in their song-writing. (In fact, their second single, "The Last Days Of Summer" is the most recently written song before the LP sessions began). And their own singing gets stronger with every "take".

The amazing versatility of their writting ability is clearly evident on this, their very first, album. In fact, though obviously we´re biased, we at Fresh Air sincerely believe that almost half the tracks are possible `A` side. We also believe that Velvet Glove have the talent - and, as people, the determination - to become writers and artistes of the Lennon-McCartney, Simon-Garfunkel stature and quality. This album is only the beginning."

Tony Hall, Fresh Air Records, September 1974
