    One of Tony's best LP's. A masterpiece.

    This time, it's personal.

    Track 6 was "our song" for me and my soon to be ex-wife, so listening to it hurts a bit. I must say that I have great taste in music AND women. Almost as good as her taste in men. The songwriter is none other than the guy who went on to do Schoolhouse Rock!

    In his book, "Jazz Singing" (which is very good), William Friedwald puts this in his batch of 17 or so Desert Island Disks. And he's right, it's great. And, oddly, it's only avalable in a 13-disk box. Why this is not available as a single disk is puzzling. (It was released, though, in Japan some 20+ years ago.) The cd has three bonus tracks – tracks that are perfectly fine additions and not too annoying (except that echo!). I recommend that you listen to the actual LP of 12 tracks and ignore the bonuses.

    The LP at hand is only the third copy that I've been able to find, and the only decent one (at an afforadable price). There are song loong intros and many quiet intrumental bits where the vinyl is noticeable. Such is life.
    If I can source a decent stereo version, I may do a 24bit of that.

    No music was harmed in the making of this vinyl rip.

    This is what I do in general. Not every step is done for all rips:
    LP > Rega P1 with Ortofon Super 30 > TC-750LC > E-Mu 0202 > Adobe Audition 3 (AA) @ 96kHz 32bit float > Manual click removal in AA > Click Repair set @ 20 > AA used to balance L/R > (for MONO: Equalizer (from the ClickRepair guy) used to combine L+R >) AA to split tracks, fade in/out, and for manual click removal >

    for 24bit: use AA to truncate the 32bit file >
    for 16bit: Izoptope RX Advanced to resample the 32bit file to 44.1kHz > and then to dither to`16bit using MBIT+ >

    All > Trader's Little Helper to FLAC and (for 16bit: sector align if necessary, pad) > MP3 Tagger to edit tags.

    "16bit" = 16bit at 44.1kHz
    "24bit" = 24bit at 96kHz
