Part 1 of Tony's superb Rodgers and Hart recordings. If you don't like this, you can't be my friend.

Part 1 of Tony's superb Rodgers and Hart recordings. It's superb stuff. Due to the nature of the recordings – very quiet and
intimate – you will hear the sound of a rock being dragged across vinyl.

    From the Concord Music website:
"Tony Bennett Sings the Rodgers & Hart Songbook is an undervalued gem in the glittering discography of the superlative vocalist,
whose career on record stretches back to 1950. Perhaps one reason why this collection has been overlooked is because its
contents were initially released (in 1976 and 1977) on two LPs for Bennett’s small, independent jazz label Improv, before being
deleted. In 2004, Concord Records brought the Bennett/Rodgers & Hart collection back as part of a four-disc set (Tony Bennett
The Complete Improv Recordings). Now it's available in a sublime 26-song, single-disc package that contains six alternate
    takes."

    Review by William Ruhlmann
"In sessions recorded in September 1973, Tony Bennett cut a series of songs by Richard Rodgers and Lorenz Hart, backed by the
Ruby Braff-George Barnes Quartet. This album presented the second half of that session, including classics like "Thou Swell,"
"You Took Advantage Of Me," and "My Romance." Bennett is a sterling interpreter, and the backup is sympathetic. (Later reissued
in a single CD with Tony Bennett Sings 10 Rodgers & Hart Songs by DRG.)"

    Settle in and enjoy.
