A very unusual session for MPS - one that features mostly solo work by the four players named as 'leader' - Albert Mangelsdorff, Gunter Hampel, Joachim Kuhn, and Pierre Favre - each of whom get a few tracks to themselves, then join up for a few more duo tracks and one more quartet number.

The solo work is especially nice – never too free our 'out', and done with the same sense of swing and playful exploration as some of Mangelsdorff's solo work on other records for the label. Gunter Hampel sounds especially nice on the track 'Schwwweeet', which features passages on flute and vibes – and other tracks include 'Fuga Mit Orgelpunkt Von Schnee' and 'Medieval Percussion Song' by Pierre Favre, 'Ant Steps On An Elephant's Toe' and 'Supraconductivity' by Albert Mangelsdorff, 'Rainbow Road' and 'In A Sentimental Mood' by Joachim Kuhn, 'The Barriers On The Way To You' by Hampel & Favre, 'Take Your Hit Kit' by Kuhn & Mangelsdorff, and 'Ringelvier' by the whole quartet.
