Jesse Davis was one of the original ''young lions'' of the 1980's. Born in New Orleans, he quickly emerged as the dominant voice on his instrument in New York City. He worked with Wynton Marsalis, Nicholas Payton, Hank Jones and Mulgrew Miller before moving to Europe. On this date he is joined by the great Ryan Kisor on trumpet, Peter Washington on bass , Spike Wilner on piano and Billy Drummond on drums. The music is a hard swinging combination of soulful originals and classic standards.
