Jean-Christian Michel is a composer and clarinetist. His compositions are influenced by jazz and by the music of Johann Sebastian Bach.

Michel has received 3 diamond discs, 7 platinum discs and 10 golden discs. He is a "Full Member" of the SACEM (association of composers and music publishers to protect copyright and royalties). He received the prize for "Sciences and Culture" at the Sorbonne, Paris, France, awarded by a jury of six Nobel Prize winners. Jean-Christian Michel is currently the godfather of the campaign Neurodon, within the Federation for Brain Research [1] FRC

Jean-Christian Michel ist ein französischer Komponist und Klarinettist.

Michel ist erst nach seiner Ausbildung zum Chirurgen 1970 öffentlich aufgetreten. Er ist von der Kirchenmusik von Johann Sebastian Bach und vom anspruchsvollen europäischen Jazz inspiriert. Er spielt seine Kompositionen und Adaptionen auf der Klarinette. Jean-Christian Michel hat sich immer mit kompetenten Jazzmusikern wie Kenny Clarke umgeben, der mit ihm 10 Jahre lang spielte. Weiterhin ist er mit dem Drummer Daniel Humair und den Bassisten Guy Pedersen bzw. Henri Texier aufgetreten.

Jean-Christian Michel wurde 1986 in Paris der Preis "Sciences et Culture" ("Wissenschaften und Kultur") von der Sorbonne verliehen. Die Jury bestand aus sechs Nobelpreisträgern. wikipedia
