Gerry Weil Plays Bach is a proposal that brings together decades of work by maestro Gerry Weil, who has studied the music of classical composer Johan Sebastian Bach in depth. This is the first album recorded in Venezuela, by a solo musician, with immersive microphone techniques (3D) designed for Dolby Atmos mixing and distributed as Spatial Audio on the digital platforms.
The recording was made with a Steinway grand piano, on March 9, 2021 in the Fedora Alemán Room, at the Social Action Center for Music. On YouTube, for now, there is a preview.
“The realization of this recording project dedicated, in my opinion, to the greatest musician in history has been a dream come true. During the last 40 years I have focused my musical study on this great universal teacher. His music transcends all dimensions of time and space as his work is a manifestation of pure love that comes from the supreme energy of creation. Since I was a child I have been fascinated with the works of Johan Sebastian Bach to whom I humbly dedicate this production”, says Gerry Weil about the Gerry Weil Plays Bach album that will be formally presented on Wednesday May 31 and that would be his second production of 2023 after the release of Alma, together with Nené Quintero.
