    The Italian harpsichordist, fortepianist, organist and conductor, Davide Pozzi, got the diploma with full marks of harpsichord, fortepiano and clavichord (M. Porrà), and organ and organ composition (Eva Frick Galliera) at the Conservatorio G. Verdi in Milan. At the same conservatoire he got a first-class degree in organ. He He then continued his studies at the Civica Scuola di Musica di Milan, receiving his diploma, again with honors, in Lorenzo Ghielmi's Baroque organ class. While there he also enhanced his harpsichord studies with Laura Alvini. Finally, he attended the “Schola Cantorum Basiliensis for post-graduate studies in organ with Jean Claude Zehnder and in harpsichord with Andrea Marcon. After being given a prize in several organ and harpsichord national competitions, he won in 2000 the 2nd prize as harpsichordist of the Estro Cromatico ensemble at the international competition “Bonporti” in Rovereto and the Bärenreiter prize at the Telemann competition in Magbeburg, whose chairman, in both competitions, was Gustav Leonhardt.

    The concerts’ activities brought Davide Pozzi to play all over Italy, France, Germany, Switzerland, Luxembourg, Belgium, Portugal, Spain, Austria, Croatia, Poland, Finland, Latonya, Israel, USA and Japan, performing for concert bodies of the highest levels as: : Tage Alte Musik Regensburg, Museum of the Instruments and Berlin’s Philarmonie, Salle Gaveau, Salle Pleyel and Cité de la Musique Paris, Berlin and Vienne’s Konzerhaus , Amsterdam’s Concertgebow, Tonhalle Zürich, Società del Quartetto Milano, Teatro alla Scala Milano, Musica e Poesia a S. Maurizio, Teatro Regio Parma, Teatro Real of Madrid, Auditorium of Milano Antichi organi in Concerto, Musica Rara – Milano, Teatro degli Arcimboldi Milano, etc. He has been invited to collaborate with groups such as L'Aura Soave-Cremona, Fantazyas, I Madrigalisti Ambrosiani, La Venexiana (Director: Claudio Cavina), L’aurasoave Kammerorchester Basel (Director: Julia Schröder), Zürcher Kammerorchester, I Barocchisti (Director: Diego Fasolis), the vocal group Musica Laudantes, Kammerakademie Potsdam, Orchestra Sinfonica di Milano Giuseppe Verdi and La Verdi Barocca of Milano, Il falcone, Magnifica Comunità Ensemble, Il canto di Orfeo, I solisti di Pavia, Musica Rara, Strabella Consort, Cordia Brunico, and others. He has played for important concert seasons and international festivals in Italy and abroad with artists and directors of worldwide acclaim, including Riccardo Chailly, Christopher Hogwood, Helmuth Rilling, Emma Kirkby, Alfredo Bernardini, etc.

    As a harpsichordist and fortepiano player, Davide Pozzi performed the solo concertos for harpsichord or organ with orchestra of J.S. Bach, Baldassare Galuppi, George Frideric Handel, Giovanni Battista Serini, Carl Philipp Emanuel Bach, Johann Christian Bach and others with many ensembles in Italy and abroad. Worth to be remarked is the execution of Concerto for harpsichord No. 7 BWV 1058 of J.S. Bach at the Berlin’s Philarmonie under Sergio Azzolini’s direction, J.S. Bach's Brandenburg Concerto No. 5 BWV 1050 at the Regio Theatre in Parma with Enrico Dindo, Concerto for harpsichord No. 1 BWV 1052 and again the Brandenburg Concerto at the Auditorium of Milano. In 2012 he played in a solo tour in Germany with Emmanuel Pahud, first flautist of Berliner Philharmoniker, performing a J.C. Bach Concerto and the J.S. Bach's Brandenburg Concerto No. 5 BWV 1050. He recently participated in prestigious tours all over Europe with Cecilia Bartoli and with Simone Kermes. In 2013, he was invited by Kammerorchester Basel as a solo for the Concerto for harpsichord No. 5 BWV 1056 and the Cantata with solo organ BWV 169 of J.S. Bach with the famous counter-tenor Andreas Scholl.

    As an organist, Davide Pozzi is constantly invited to seasons born to exploit the historical patrimony and to play on prestigious instruments and copies.

    Davide Pozzi has recorded more than 40 CD's for Decca, Sony, Stradivarius, Naive, Glossa, Chandos, Amadeus, Bongiovanni, Tactus, La Bottega Discantica, Arts and live for various radio and television broadcasting stations all over the world, including Rai TV, Rai radio 3, Bayerische Rundkuft classic and ORF. He recorded the Concerto for Fortepiano and orchestra Wq 35 of C.P.E. Bach for the Sony Classical with Streicherakademie Bozen’s orchestra. The last of his five solo CD's, edited in 2012, is dedicated to C.P.E. Bach’s Sonatas for fortepiano and harpsichord and got extremely positive reviews by the critics. The last of his solo CD's for Pan Classics is dedicated to J.S. Bach's Goldberg Variations (BWV 988): "…Pozzi, how has grace and fluency abounding. Even when he is playing in a slow tempo, the momentum derived from essential dance rhythms behind so many of variations tell you where the all movement is headed. I like it…." (Early music Review).
