Probably the most popular release of Marley live, this concert has been newly remastered! This June 1977 concert at London's Rainbow Theater captures the recently reconfigured Wailers ending a European tour to promote the Exodus album. The rare performances of "Trenchtown Rock," "Rebel Music," and "Crazy Baldhead" from the earlier Wailers repertoire are the treasures of this collection, but the whole thing is simply a "must-have".

Bob Marley and The Wailers played four shows at London’s Rainbow Theatre from 1 to 4 June 1977 as part of a European tour to promote Marley’s international breakthough, Exodus, which stayed on the British album charts for 56 consecutive weeks and included four UK hit singles: ‘Exodus’, ‘Waiting in Vain’, ‘Jamming’, and ‘One Love’ (a rendition of Curtis Mayfield’s hit, ‘People Get Ready’).

1977 was a landmark year for Bob Marley. Following an assassination attempt in December 1976, he flew to Compass Point Studios in the Bahamas, then to London to record what could arguably be described as his finest album, Exodus. Marley was on a creative high, as though the attempt on his life had only strengthened his resolve, and was working closely with Tyrone Downie, who was becoming more prominent as the group's arranger. Exodus established Marley's international superstar status. It remained in the British charts for 56 weeks, and netted three U.K. hit singles, Exodus, Waiting In Vain and Jamming. The Exodus tour of June, 1977, which saw the group play London's Rainbow Theatre for six consecutive nights, was just as infamous. These concerts revealed the fervour of Marley's live performances, so much so that Island Records decided to capture the concerts on film, a record of which remains the definitive document of the legend, even today.
