At first glance, the current series of works may seem strange with its juxtaposition of late romantic and contemporary Swiss composers, but if you know that the creative engagement with folk music plays an important role for Paul Juon and Fabian Müller, you will discover important similarities. Othmar Schoeck acts as a kind of mediator between the Russian-born romantic Paul Juon and his Zurich contemporary Fabian Müller.

As an internationally sought-after soloist and chamber musician, Pi-Chin Chien has performed on the world's major stages, such as Carnegie Hall and Lincoln Center in New York, the Berlin Philharmonic, the Konzerthaus Berlin and the Tonhalle Zurich. She played numerous world premieres of cello concertos and chamber music works, some of which were dedicated to her.

A few years ago, Pi-Chin made this almost "legendary" first recording of Paul Juon's Cello Sonata. At the time, she contributed a lot to the rediscovery of the Swiss late romantic Juon.

The Swiss pianist Adrian Oetiker has been a successful soloist and chamber musician for many years, and is also a sought-after teacher. He studied in the master class of Homero Francesch at the Zurich University of the Arts and with Bella Davidovich at the Juilliard School in New York. Lazar Berman was also one of his teachers. He has won prizes in Cologne and Dublin, among others, and in 1995 he won the ARD international piano competition in Munich.
