The Spanish record label continues its collaboration with the orchestra of the Auditorium of the Provincial Council of Alicante, where this work was recorded live in a concert, highly celebrated by the public, which garnered praise from critics.
ADDA Simfònica, one of the most recognized groups, recently nominated by the Latin and American Grammys and by the Spanish Academy of Music; addresses one of the reference works of the Moscow composer
Josep Vicent: “I have always had a great fascination for Scriabin's music, it is very visual, it has a great synesthetic capacity to relate colors, light and harmony; "His work is a symbol of freedom, respect and coexistence."
Fernando Arias, director of ARIA classics, emphasizes that “with this album, Josep Vicent and ADDA Simfònica vindicate the figure of Scriabin and a work, Symphony number 3, on the 120th anniversary of its creation”
Manuel Comesaña explains in the libretto that The Divine Poem “transcended the musical, enjoyed popularity, received recognition from colleagues and put one foot in modernism, without lifting the other from the romantic period.”
Critics highlighted ADDA Simfònica “the skill that characterizes the interpretive art of large ensembles” that exhibited “formal ensemble coherence” and was conducted “with wise mastery” by Josep Vicent.
ARIA classics has published the album Le divin poème by Alexander Scriabin (1872 – 1915) in which ADDA Simfònica, conducted by Josep Vicent, performs Symphony number 3 in C minor opus 43, which the author subtitled The divine poem. With this work, the record label continues its collaboration with the formation of the Auditorium of the Provincial Council of Alicante, where this work was recorded live in a concert, highly celebrated by the public and which garnered praise from critics, which took place on February 2, 2023.
With this production, which will be distributed internationally and on numerous digital platforms around the world starting May 2, ADDA Simfònica addresses one of the reference works of the Moscow composer, written between 1904 and 1905 in Switzerland and premiered in that
same year at the Théâtre du Châtelet in Paris under the baton of the Hungarian director Arthur Nikisch. The Alicante orchestra, an artistic project by Josep Vicent that has been promoted by the Alicante Provincial Council since 2018, has revealed itself as one of the groups with the most projection on the musical scene; She has recently been recognized with two nominations from the Latin Grammys, one from the American Grammys and three from the Spanish Academy of Music for the album Ritmo: The Chick Corea Symphony Tribute, produced by Fernando Arias, director of ARIA classics, which the Alicante auditorium, given the success of the public, will offer again within the framework of Fijazz 2024 on July 20.
Josep Vicent assures that “I have always had a huge fascination for Scriabin's music, he is very visual when writing, he has a great synesthetic capacity to relate colors, light and harmony, and his work seems to me to be a symbol.” of freedom, respect and coexistence.” The director of Altea (Alicante) highlights that “he is a great symphonist and makes the orchestra shine enormously”, as well as his enthusiasm for recording Le divin poème, “probably of all the music it is the one that most clearly tries to bring us closer towards that illumination of coexistence and the sensation of universal divinity.”
In relation to the concert, he points out that “it is a success that we will not forget, it was the last impulse to leave this record testimony; and when that extreme passion that we were able to experience occurs live, we think it is worth sharing it with more people.” Josep Vicent highlights that “in collaboration with ARIA classics and with the producer Fernando Arias we are getting closer to a common philosophy and sound aesthetic, we have achieved great achievements with recent works, and in this one, it has been a huge pleasure to explore jointly the emotive capacity of sound, and talking about the color, weight, density of music… all of this, in a process of strong complicity and which we thoroughly enjoyed."
Fernando Arias, emphasizes that “with this album, Josep Vicent and ADDA Simfònica vindicate the figure of Scriabin and a work, Symphony number 3, when 120 years have passed since its creation”; and that recording it live "is an example of bravery and courage when facing and recording a very demanding score, which tests the excellence and commitment of the performers with a project." The director of ARIA classics, musician and sound engineer believes that “the latest nominations for the Alicante orchestra are a reward for the great work carried out by one of the most relevant ensembles today.”
