    Parallèlement à la composition, Romain Trouillet s’intéresse également au sound design. Durant ses études à la faculté il est initié à la musique concrète qui sera déterminante dans sa façon de percevoir la matière sonore. Il développe ses compétences avec le jeu vidéo, notamment au travers de ses travaux de bruitage. Aussi, Romain Trouillet associe souvent la composition et le sound design dans les films d’animation, comme c’est le cas dernièrement avec In a Cage, réalisé par Loïc Bruyère et produit par Folimage. Aussi, avec la pièce La dame Blanche, Romain mise sur une installation sonore imposante qui met en scène pas moins de vingt enceintes. Ce dispositif lui permet de signer un travail de sound design à la limite de la musique acousmatique.
