I start to review the Graeme Allwright discography. For me has been a pleasant surprise to discover thanks to the generosity of polux, who has sent me the most relevant LPs of his discography.
This LP is the first of his career, and my humble opinion one of his best. The ballad "Joue, joue, joue" is simply endearing.
Allwright takes the form of country-folk music of US, the style that encompasses all those litter of great artists like Woody Guthrie, Pete Seeger, Dylan, Cohen, etc. In fact this makes much interpretations from songwriter Leonard Cohen. It should be noted the difference: his style is not same to Gordon Lightfoot, Jim Croce, Don McLean or John Denver, they're more focused on the romantic ballad with orchestral arrangements. He is: his voice, his guitar and a folk instrument. Ah! something not less, here is Alan Cochevelou celtic-harp player, and who is it? None other than Alan Stivell.
I leave you with an album to love from beginning to end.Fran Solo, MMXIII
