May Blitz was a short lived British-based trio that consisted of two Canadians and an Englishman. The two Canadians were guitarist and vocalist James Black and bassist Reid Hudson, with the Englishman being drummer Tony Newman, formerly of the Jeff Beck Group. This band basically combined psychedelia with blues and hard rock that's not unlike the Jimi Hendrix Experience or Cream.

One of the truly great undiscovered classics, "Metalized" will live forever as the irrefutable argument why major record labels cannot be trusted to bring us the best music. While Sword wallowed in obscurity, big labels were busy bringing us such winners as Poison and Warrant. Such a waste.

Sword released two albums for Aquarius in the mid to late 80s; the thundering ‘Metalized’ in 1986 and its equally heavy follow-up ‘Sweet Dreams’ in 1988. With their fierce riffs and pummeling drums, Sword earned the respect of their metal peers and fans around the world. Not only did they tour in support of Motörhead and Alice Cooper, but the group was hand picked to open for Metallica on the 1986 ‘Master of Puppets’ tour.
