Profound and tender aspects within Rituel - In memoriam Bruno Maderna have been successfully realized in this recording - no less than that by the composer Boulez. The orchestral work by Lachenmann may as well be catchy thanks to the performers.
Quite a few will agree that Japan's experimental rock/jazz musicians enjoyed their affairs best in early 1990's. Such technological instruments as electronics and turntables are more of ways of free (in terms of ideas) improvisation than of acoustic effects, which I believe is their characteristics.
Recorded live in April 1980, Tokyo. I must confess that I decided to share this one in spite of my pathetic internet connection since it could be a valuable source on Irvine Arditti no more than a couple of months before his 'graduation'.
The performance in this live is of course of good quality, though some rough brass playing is recognised in the opening of Mussorgsky.
