Cities of the World depicts the ambiance, variety, unspoiled majesty and splendor of fourteen of the world's most unique cities. These captivating destinations have all been singled out to create a culture full of history.

Houses standing on piles in the water of the canals, the floating market and temples with their glistening mosaics are all living memories from the past, but the skyscrapers standing on the bank of Cho Praya and the luxury cars speeding on the highway are all forerunners of the new century. Old and new, rich and poor, backwards and ultra modern; Bangkok is a place of controversies. In the buzzing of the 8 million person metropolis, the Royal Palace and the buddhist monasteries are islands of peace and silence. One can see a 5 ton Buddha statue, temples covered with marble, mirrors and gold, and relics each more beautiful than the previous one. We can take a trip from Bangkok to the ruins of the ancient capital of Ayutthaya walk across the famous bridge of the River Kwai, or explore the beaches of Pattaya.

О фильме: Дома, стоящие на сваях над водой каналов, плавающий рынок и храмы, выложенные блестящей мозаикой - все это ожившая память прошлого. Среди гула 8-миллионного мегаполиса, Королевский дворец и буддистские монастыри - это островки мира и тишины. Мы осмотрим пятитонную статую Будды, храмы, покрытые мрамором, зеркалами и золотом и предметы старины, один прекрасней другого… Мы также пустимся в путешествие из Бангкока к руинам древней столицы Аюттая, знаменитому мосту Реки Кваи, а оттуда недалеко до экзотических пляжей Паттая…
