25 years ago occurred the nuclear accident at Chernobyl, the first global industrial disaster. Interviews with witnesses and archive footage from the East and West reconstruct the course of the Supergau and the reaction to it.
Back then jumped the radioactivity in Sweden, Germany, France - indeed Europe - in the air and with it came the fear. How can you protect yourself from a danger which is invisible? What shall we eat? Where are the children? Helplessness among governments, experts in uncertainty, fear and anger in the population characterized the mood in the spring of 1986, which broke sharply for many of the belief in a safe, worry-free future.
