Art dealer Gordon Watson stakes his money and reputation on buying, selling and getting the best deals. He introduces us to his wealthy clients - lords, ladies and billionaires.Part 1: Lord Rothschild - The Billionaire Collector
In the first programme, he views the latest additions to Lord Rothschild's collection of traditional and contemporary art, furniture and design, to see whether there is anything he can add. Gordon also receives a tour of Flint House, a new-build on Rothschild's Buckinghamshire estate. Inspired by ideas of what he might sell to the peer, Gordon heads to Amsterdam to see an unique piece of contemporary lighting he has been advised about.
Part 2: Baroness - The £15million Auction
Gordon Watson meets renowned art and design collector Marion Lambert, who has decided to declutter her homes and sell off 300 pieces from her collection in a £15million auction. The Baroness has enlisted the help of one of the world's best auctioneers, Simon de Pury, and Christie's auction house to help her. Gordon takes a sneak preview of the collection and picks out a few pieces he wishes to bid on. He also finally tracks down an artist that he's been keen to meet for over a year.
Part 3: Gela - The Hollywood Entrepreneur
Gela Nash-Taylor, wife of Duran Duran bass player John Taylor, is a committed Anglophile and owner of one of the UK's finest Tudor homes. Gela spends a lot of time in Los Angeles, but on a short trip to Britain she catches up with art dealer and friend Gordon Watson to discuss her latest business venture. Gordon takes inspiration from their meeting and goes in search of something unique that he hopes Gela may wish to buy in the line of antique jewellery. However, there is no guarantee the entrepreneur will be in the mood to purchase anything.
Part 4: Houghton Hall
David Cholmondeley, seventh Marquess of Cholmondeley and descendent of Robert Walpole, Britain's first Prime Minister, continues the family tradition of collecting art for the house and grounds of his stately home in Norfolk. It's been a while since Gordon Watson visited Houghton Hall and he's keen to see what has been added to the collection. Gordon then heads to Amsterdam in search of unique contemporary objects and on to Sotheby's auction house in London. Will Lord Cholmondeley be keen to buy any of the objects that Gordon has found?
Part 5: Anita - The Billionaire Art Owner
Gordon Watson tries to sell an item to Anita Zabludowicz, the world-renowned billionaire collector of unusual and experimental contemporary art. Anita has two rooms named after her at the Tate Modern, and a large art gallery in London as well as other spaces in Finland and New York. Her and Gordon have known one another for 20 years, but in all that time he's never managed to sell anything to her - can he end that run on this occasion?
Part 6: Interior Designs - High End Homes
Gordon Watson's business dovetails with that of the interior designers furnishing the homes of London's super rich, and over the years he has become the go-to man when it comes to buying appropriate furniture, art and other objects to give that extra special touch. In the last programme of the series, cameras follow Gordon to Pad, an annual design fair in central London, where he hopes his hand-picked pieces will tempt the uber rich and their clients visiting his stand to part with their cash.
