"This ten minute film is about 19th century Armenian portraitist-painter Hakob Hovnatanyan, who lived most of his life in Tiflis, which was then a part of the Russian Empire, and is now the capital of the Republic of Georgia."Imdb user
"As an Armenian I found myself bewildered yet impressed by this film. I really can't explain why. There is hardly any dialogue. There is no acting involved. Most of the film consists of close-ups on Hovnatanyan's paintings, usually accompanied by either silence, a child and presumably his mother speaking in French, or a woman singing parts of what seems to be the Divine Liturgy of the Armenian Apostolic Church.
If you are seeking a traditional biopic on an artist (along the lines of "Lust for Life" or "Pollock"), then this is not the film for you." / Imdb user/
