    Saturday Night Fever is a 1977 film starring John Travolta as Tony Manero, a troubled Brooklyn youth whose weekend activities are dominated by visits to a local discothèque. While in the disco, Tony is the king, and the visits help him to temporarily forget the reality of his life: a dead-end job, clashes with his unsupportive and squabbling parents, racial tensions in the local community, and his associations with a gang of dead-beat friends.

    Revêtu d'habits voyants et entouré de ses amis Bobby C. et Double J., Tony Manero, modeste garçon de courses de 19 ans, redevient tous les samedis soirs le roi du 2001, la plus grande discothèque de Brooklyn, où ses talents de danseur lui valent l'admiration de tous. L'occasion pour lui d'oublier, l'espace de quelques heures, la morosité de son existence et le mépris de sa famille, qui ne voit en lui qu'un raté. C'est au 2001 qu'il rencontre un beau soir Stephanie, qui danse presque aussi bien que lui. Impressionné, il lui propose d'être sa partenaire pour le prochain concours de danse organisé par la boîte de nuit..
