The birth of the Coldplay phenomenon is adjacent at the exit of the Parachutes album and the publication of its title headlight, Trouble. Like their famous contemporaries, such Radiohead, Blur or The Liveliness, to which they are found abruptly confronted, Chris Martin and his happy accomplices seek to move away from the influence of the prestigious ancestors common to the whole of these musical alliances: mainly Beatles. Deux ans plus tard, A rush of blood to the head est désigné, de façon unanime, comme l'album de leur consécration. A l'instar de leurs illustres contemporains, tels Radiohead, Blur ou The Verve, auxquels ils se retrouvent brusquement confrontés, Chris Martin et ses bienheureux complices cherchent à s'éloigner de l'influence des prestigieux ancêtres communs à l'ensemble de ces alliances musicales : principalement les Beatles.
