Après avoir précipitamment fui l'église et sa femme, le jour de son mariage, Antoine rencontre Josy qui, se fiant à son horoscope, quitte Vincent pour lui. La chance sourit d'abord au couple, puique grâce aux prévisions astrologiques, ils gagnent au tiercé. Associés avec Antoine, ils partent dans le midi et batissent alors toute leur vie sur l'horoscope, mais la chance tourne et c'est la déroute financière. Vincent se lie avec Fabienne, tandis que Josy s'éclipse avec un notaire en délaissant ses deux amants…

(Having bottled out of his wedding, Antoine flees to Paris, where he gets a job as a barman with his friend Vincent. The two men are persuaded by a fortune teller that their horoscope will lead them to future happiness. Sure enough, both men quickly discover romance, thanks to their horoscopes. Unfortunately, the brothers of Antoine’s jilted bride soon appear on the scene, and are not too happy to see their prospective brother-in-law in the arms of another woman. Meanwhile, Vincent’s attempts to win over his new amour, an estate agent desperate to earn her commission, are proving far from successful…)
