An eastern cult (a parody of the Thuggee cult) is about to sacrifice a woman to the goddess 'Kaili'. Just as she is about to be killed, the high priestess of the cult notices that she is not wearing the sacrificial ring. Ringo Starr, drummer of The Beatles, has it; sent to him by the victim – it is on his finger. Determined to retrieve the ring and sacrifice the woman, the great Swami Clang (McKern), the high priestess Ahme (Bron) and several cult members including Bhuta (Bluthal) leave for London. After several failed attempts to steal the ring, they confront him in an Indian restaurant…

Les Beatles avaient déjà un film à leur actif. Maintenant, il leur en fallait un en couleurs. Ils n'avaient jamais fait de ski, n'avaient jamais été aux Bahamas… «Dites, pourriez-vous nous écrire un film, in color please, qui nous permettrait de faire ces deux activités?!» Aussitôt dit, aussitôt fait. Réalisé une fois de plus par Richard Lester, Help! est un délire total dans lequel la bande se fait poursuivre par les membres d'une secte ainsi que deux scientifiques fous. Tous ces cinglés veulent mettre la main sur une bague que porte Ringo. Méchant trip, vous dites? Notons d'ailleurs que, lors du tournage, les Beatles eux-mêmes étaient en trip sévère. «À l'époque, nous fumions de la mari au p'tit déj», confiera plus tard John Lennon…
