Basic armorer's course for Glock pistols. Full disassembly shown. Relates to all Glock auto-loading pistols, from the earliest Model 17, through the latest versions, since the basic construction has never changed.
The Glock Pistol Armorer's Course (basic)
In 1980, the Austrian company Glock GmbH was invited to submit bids on a contract to re-arm the Austrian Army with a duty pistol to replace the Walther P38. After passing all of the exhaustive endurance and abuse tests, Glock emerged as the winner of the contract, with the Glock Model 17 (named for the seventeenth patent issued to Glock GmbH). The Austrian police forces were similarly armed almost immediately, and then followed the naming of the pistol as the "official" sidearm for the Dutch, Norwegian, and Swedish armed forces. Because of its simplicity of design, a pistol made of only 32 individual pieces, and its ability to take abuse in the field, its popularity spread rapidly throughout the world.
This is a basic video course for armorers, describing how to dismantle the gun, and replace damaged parts.
More extensive instruction videos will be forthcoming at AvaxHome, if there is any interest in this kind of instructional material.
