Un ultimo tango è più di una comune storia d'amore. E' la storia d'amore tra i due più famosi ballerini di tango della storia, la storia del loro incredibile amore per il tango. Maria Nieves Rego (1934) e Juan Carlos Copes (1931) si incontrano da giovanissimi e rimangono insieme per quasi tutta la vita. In tutti questi anni si sono amati e odiati, attraversando diverse dolorose separazioni, fino a dividersi definitivamente nel 1997. Il film traccia la storia del ballo argentino attraverso le vite di Maria e Juan, i primi a portare il tango fuori dalle milongas di Buenos Aires e a presentarlo sui palchi dei teatri di tutto il mondo. La passione e la determinazione della coppia di ballerini di tango più famosa della storia vengono messe in scena da una compagnia di giovani tangueros e coreografi di Buenos Aires che, attraverso i racconti dei protagonisti, ripercorrono la loro storia e quella del Tango stesso. I momenti più belli, toccanti e drammatici delle loro vite si trasformano in incredibili coreografie che si legano alle interviste intime e ai materiali d'archivio per un indimenticabile viaggio nel cuore del tango

Storyline
"Our Last Tango" is a story of love between the two most famous dancers in tango's history. And the story of their tremendous love of tango. María Nieves Rego (81) and Juan Carlos Copes (84) met when they were 14 and 17, and they danced together for nearly fifty years. In all those years they loved and hated each other and went through several painful separations, but always got back together. Now, Juan and María are willing to open up about their love, their hatred, and their passion. In Our Last Tango Juan and María tell their story to a group of young tango dancers and choreographers from Buenos Aires, who transform the most beautiful, moving and dramatic moments of Juan and Maria's lives into incredible tango-choreographies.
