Il film racconta la storia del Maggiore Tommy Egan, un pilota di caccia con una lunga esperienza sul campo in Afghanistan e Iraq. La precisione, l’attenzione ma anche la paura e l'adrenalina caratterizzano le giornate dell'uomo che, ad un certo punto, si trova costretto a rivoluzionare le sue abitudini. Dagli aerei e dai cieli oltreoceano, Tommy si troverà a lavorare a pochi km di distanza dalla sua casa e dalla sua famiglia a Las Vegas, in un cubicolo comodo e accogliente, a pilotare aeromobili a pilotaggio remoto, più comunemente noti come droni.

Storyline
A Las Vegas-based fighter pilot turned drone pilot fights the Taliban by remote control for 12 hours a day, then goes home to the suburbs and feuds with his wife and kids for the other 12. But the pilot is starting to question the mission. Is he creating more terrorists than he's killing? Is he fighting a war without end.
