A van crammed with illegal immigrants surpasses the border. The police opened the door and control. But the case is immediately passed to two strange guys in black car coming up as black. The two, identified as special agents, are actually the Men in Black, the negotiators of intergalactic unofficial government agency that keeps at bay the alien creatures on Earth. Agent K (Tommy Lee Jones) - before the mission - but had been given the task to erase the memory of one of his colleagues, the agent D (Richard Hamilton). Agent K completes its work and kills the alien stowaway.
In Manhattan, shortly after the agent has K D sparaflashato the agent alters the memory, the rookie James Edwards (Will Smith) is chasing a thief, a mysterious individual with extraordinary power and physical agility. Edwards reaches the thief on the roof.

Un furgone pieno zeppo di clandestini sorpassa la frontiera. Gli agenti della polizia aprono lo sportello e controllano. Ma il caso è immediatamente passato a due strani tizi in nero che arrivano su un'auto altrettanto nera. I due, identificati come agenti speciali, sono in realtà i Men in Black, i negoziatori intergalattici di un'agenzia governativa non ufficiale che tiene a bada le creature aliene presenti sulla Terra. All'agente K (Tommy Lee Jones) - prima della missione - era però stato dato l'incarico di cancellare la memoria di uno dei suoi colleghi, l'agente D (Richard Hamilton). L'agente K porta a termine il suo lavoro e uccide l'alieno clandestino.
A Manhattan, poco dopo che l'agente K ha sparaflashato l'agente D alterandone la memoria, la recluta James Edwards (Will Smith) sta inseguendo un ladro, un misterioso individuo dalla straordinaria potenza e agilità fisica. Edwards raggiunge il ladro sul tetto.
