The Karate Kid (2010)

Dre Parker (Jaden Smith), a kid from Detroit, was forced along with his mother (Taraji P. Henson) to move to China for business. Before long, Dre began to sympathize with his classmate Mei Yin, but cultural differences make this friendship nearly impossible, especially because of the father of Yin Mey. To make matters worse Cheng, a bully classmate Dre, kung fu prodigy who gets jealous for his feelings about the friend. Dre knows only some form of karate and ju jitsu and Cheng puts it to the mat with ease. Without friends, in a country does not know the language, Dre does not feel at ease if not with Mr. Han (Jackie Chan), responsible for the maintenance of its building, which is also secretly a master of kung fu. While training, Han teaches the boy that kung fu is a discipline not only fists and skills, but also maturity and calm. Dre later win 'the tournament of kung fu which he had written on an idea by Mr. Han, and beat a' bully Cheng and his friends.

In breve tempo Dre inizia a simpatizzare per la sua compagna di classe Mei Yin, ma le differenze culturali rendono questa amicizia quasi impossibile, specialmente a causa del padre di Mey Yin. A peggiorare le cose c'è Cheng, un bullo compagno di classe di Dre, prodigio del kung fu, che si ingelosisce per i suoi sentimenti nei confronti dell'amica. Dre conosce solo qualche tecnica di karate e di ju jitsu e Cheng lo mette al tappeto con facilità. Senza amici, in un paese di cui non conosce la lingua, Dre non si sente a suo agio se non con Mr. Han (Jackie Chan), il responsabile della manutenzione del suo condominio, che segretamente è anche maestro di kung fu. Mentre lo allena, Han insegna al ragazzo che il kung fu non è una disciplina solo di pugni e abilità, ma anche maturità e calma. Dre in seguito vincera' il torneo di kung fu cui si era iscritto su idea di mr Han, e battera' il bullo Cheng e i suoi amici.
