The Shannara Chronicles - Reaper S01E05 (2016)

Durante il viaggio la compagnia guidata da Crispin viene attaccata dai Nomadi agli ordini di Cephalo, che, dopo aver ucciso diverse guardie, liberano Eretria e catturano Amberle, lasciando Will e Crispin legati in attesa che vengano sbranati dai lupi. Nell'accampamento dei Nomadi Eretria ha un ripensamento e salva Amberle appena prima che Cephalo riesca ad approfittare di lei. Lei due si ricongiungono a Will e ai soldati rimasti, che sono riusciti a liberarsi, e procedono nel loro viaggio portandosi dietro Cephalo come prigioniero. Giunti sul luogo dove era fissato l'incontro con una guida elfica, la compagnia scopre che l'avamposto e stato distrutto da un demone, il Mietitore, che uccide le due guardie rimaste e si lancia al loro inseguimento. Il gruppo è costretto a dividersi, con Amberle ed Eretria da una parte e Will e Cephalo dall'altra.

Nel frattempo ad Arborlon il Camaleonte assume le sembianze di Arion Elessendil e, dopo aver ingannato Eventine, lo trafigge a tradimento per poi acquisire il suo aspetto e sedere sul trono.

Questo nuovo serial è che si ispira al secondo libro della prima trilogia di Brooks, Le pietre magiche di Shannara. Sarà composto da dieci puntate. La storia è ambientata nelle Quattro Terre, centinaia di anni dopo una guerra che ha distrutto gran parte della civiltà. E racconta le vicende della giovane elfo Amberle Elessedil, di Wil Ohmsford, metà elfo e metà umano, e di Eretriasalvare. La loro missione? Salvare l’albero elfico Ellcrys e difendere le Quattro Terre dai demoni.

Storyline
Ten years ago, a group of gnomes lead by Slanter sneaks into Arborlon in an attempt to assassinate the King, but end up killing Prince Aine instead. In the present, the expedition to find Safehold is ambushed by Cephelo's rovers. Amberle is taken prisoner while Wil and the escort are left to die in the wilderness. Eretria receives her reward—her own freedom—and leaves the group, but comes back to free Amberle, take Cephelo prisoner and save Wil and most of the guards. Once the group arrives at their destination, the Reaper, a demon hungry for death, has already killed the garrison and attacks them. Cephelo lures it into an ancient field of chemical garbage and sets the field on fire, killing it. Meanwhile, Allanon asks Bandon to contact Amberle through the Ellcrys. In a vision, he sees her dead at Dagda Mor's feet. News comes in about demon attacks to elven villages. Ander suggests to seek the demon's source and enlists Slanter, who was captured 10 years ago, as a guide. The Changeling, disguised as Arion, kills the King and takes his place.

The Shannara Chronicles is an American fantasy drama television series created by Alfred Gough & Miles Millar. It is an adaptation of the Shannara series of fantasy novels by Terry Brooks, primarily The Sword of Shannara Trilogy. It is filmed in the Auckland Film Studios and on location elsewhere in New Zealand, and premiered on MTV in the United States on January 5, 2016. The first season will consist of 10 episodes.
