Ciclope, Jean Grey e Tempesta sono i figli dell'atomo, il prossimo anello nella catena evolutiva. Ognuno di loro - nato da una mutazione genetica - ha un potere particolare: gli occhi di Ciclope emettono un raggio di energia che può scavare un buco nelle montagne. La forza di Jean è sia telecinetica che telepatica. Tempesta può manipolare ogni forma di condizione metereologica. Nonostante gli X-men siano avversati da quanti non accettano la loro diversità, essi, guidati dal professor Charles Xavier, hanno imparato ad utilizzare i loro poteri per il bene dell'umanità. La loro prossima battaglia è contro Magneto, un vecchio amico e collega del professore convinto che esseri umani e mutanti non possano convivere e che i mutanti siano gli eredi del futuro del mondo.

English Storyline
In a world where both Mutants and Humans fear each other, Marie, better known as Rogue, runs away from home and hitches a ride with another mutant, known as Logan, a.k.a. Wolverine. Charles Xavier, who owns a school for young mutants, sends Storm and Cyclops to bring them back before it is too late. Magneto, who believes a war is approaching, has an evil plan in mind, and needs young Rogue to help him.
