Kiko ha 16 anni. Suo padre, defunto, era italiano. Sua madre Marilou è filippina. Vivono con Ennio, il nuovo compagno della mamma, un caporale che sfrutta immigrati clandestini. Ogni giorno, dopo la scuola, Kiko è costretto a lavorare nei cantieri edili di Ennio. Sente di vivere nel pianeta sbagliato. C'è un solo posto dove è possibile sognare: un vecchio bus abbandonato in una discarica che Kiko ha trasformato nel suo rifugio. Un giorno un vecchio amico del padre, Ettore, viene a cambiare il suo destino: lo cerca e si offre di diventare il suo maestro. Ma quell'uomo nasconde un segreto.

Kiko è un sedicenne con la passione per l'astronomia, trasmessagli dal padre deceduto. Vive con la madre filippina Marilou e il suo compagno Ennio, un caporale che gestisce manodopera clandestina. Kiko va male a scuola e Ennio lo vuole con sé al lavoro. Un giorno il ragazzo incontra Ettore, un insegnante in pensione che gli dice di essere un vecchio amico del padre e che lo vuole aiutare.

Storyline
Kiko is a teenager whose now dead father was Italian and his mother Marilou is from the Philippines. They live with Ennio, mother's new boyfriend, a foreman who recruits and exploits illegal migrant workers. Kiko goes to school but at the same time he is forced to work in Ennio's building yards. He feels he lives in a wrong planet. There's only one place where Kiko can dream: an old abandoned bus in a dump yard that he's turned into his private refuge.
