Attraversando una strada di campagna, Will Randall, il capo di una casa editrice newyorkese, investe un lupo e, nel tentativo di soccorrerlo, viene morso alla mano. Alla casa editrice, il nuovo proprietario decide di cambiare la conduzione: Randall si trova messo in disparte: Così decide di accettare un posto in Europa, che, di fatto, lo fa arretrare di carriera a favore di un collega più giovane. Nel frattempo, si rende conto che la ferita infertagli dal lupo è diversa da un qualsiasi altro morso: si rivolge a un esperto in licantropia, che gli conferma quello che lui teme nebulosamente: sta diventando un licantropo pure lui, essendo stato in verità ferito da un lupo. Il suo nuovo stato lo porta a diventare più aggressivo: decide di licenziarsi e di soffiare gli scrittori con cui ha lavorato per anni al suo editore. Intreccia una relazione con la figlia di questi e il suo nuovo modo di fare colpisce favorevolmente il tycoon, che torna sui suoi passi e lo reintegra al suo posto. Il suo rivale, un giovane ambizioso senza scrupoli, ferito incidentalmente da Randall, comincia ad assumere pure lui le caratteristiche del licantropo. Deciso a vendicarsi per essere stato licenziato, una sera si presenta furioso in casa dell'editore, dove cerca di assalire la ragazza che ha chiuso, per precauzione, nelle stalle Randall. Uccide il guardiano e cerca di mettere in scena l'assassinio come fosse stato attuato da Randall, che però riesce ad uscire dalle sbarre che lo chiudono, eliminando il giovane licantropo. Alla fine del film Randall scompare, e la sua giovane compagna si rende conto che, a causa del suo amore per l'editore, sta diventando un licantropo anche lei.

Across a country road, Will Randall, the head of a New York publishing house, a wolf and invests in an attempt to rescue, was bitten in the hand. The publishers, the new owner decides to change the conduct Randall is pushed aside: So he decides to accept a place in Europe, which, in fact, he does back career for a young colleague. Meanwhile, he realizes that the wound infertagli the wolf is different from any other vice: it turns to an expert on lycanthropy, that confirms what he fears nebula is becoming a werewolf he, too, having been hurt by the truth a wolf. His new status led him to become more aggressive: he decides to quit and blow the writers with whom he has worked for years to his publisher. Began a relationship with the daughter of the latter and his new way to make favorably affects the tycoon, who is back on his feet and resume his place. His rival, an ambitious young man without scruples, accidentally wounded by Randall, he too begins to take on the characteristics of the werewolf. Determined to get revenge for being fired, one evening at home has enraged the publisher, where he tried to assault the girl who has closed as a precaution, in the stables Randall. Kill the guard and tries to stage the murder as if it were implemented by Randall, but manages to escape from the bars that close, eliminating the young werewolf. At the end of the film disappears Randall, and his young wife realizes that because of his love for the publisher, is becoming a werewolf, too.
