Negli anni sessanta, il capitano dei carabinieri Carlo Arcuti (Raoul Bova), dopo lo scandalo provocato dalla sua relazione con la baronessa Barbara Altamura, ritorna in Sicilia richiamato dal colonnello Valente (Maurizio Donadoni) per indagare su un uomo d'affari marsigliese in viaggio in Italia, un tal "Martin"

Arcuti pedina Martin e conferma i sospetti di Valente: Cosa nostra sta cercando di far sorgere raffinerie di droga in Sicilia per controllare il traffico di stupefacenti tra Turchia e Stati Uniti d'America; Martin in realtà è un esperto nella raffinazione di eroina ed è stato chiamato in Sicilia sotto le vesti di un rappresentante di fertilizzanti.

Le indagini di Arcuti conducono il capitano verso Barbara Altamura (Anja Kling), il suo vecchio amore che gli ha rovinato la vita, il cui marito, il barone Francesco Altamura (Fabrizio Contri), è ora un banchiere coinvolto nel nascente traffico di droga. Barbara accetta la proposta di Arcuti di spiare le mosse del marito ma, scoperta, rischia la morte e si salva grazie all'intervento di un mafioso senza scrupoli, tale Turi Mondello (Tony Sperandeo). Questi è stato mandato dall'Avvocato Torrisi (Sebastiano Lo Monaco), socio in affari del barone, nella villa di quest'ultimo come autista e, forse innamorato della donna, salva Barbara, che viene creduta morta per parecchio tempo. Dopo aver regolato i conti con l'avvocato Torrisi e il fratello, che avevano fatto uccidere suo cognato e approfittato della sorella, Turi si pone a capo della cosca locale, assicura il monopolio del traffico degli stupefacenti agli altri boss e fornisce alla Cupola l'appoggio del politico Calogero Cinisi.

Dopo una lunga serie di ricerche, Arcuti libera Barbara dalle mani di Mondello e fa arrestare quest'ultimo. Riunitosi alla donna che ama e sul punto di condurre nuove indagini, Arcuti viene ucciso da un'automobile guidata da un sicario.
La piovra 9 - Il patto è la nona miniserie televisiva della più celebre saga della serie italiana, La piovra. Miniserie in due puntate per la regia di Giacomo Battiato, è andata in onda la prima volta in Italia il 9 e il 16 marzo 1998 su Rai Uno. Tra gli interpreti Raoul Bova (capitano Carlo Arcuti), Anja Kling (baronessa Barbara Altamura), Fabrizio Contri (barone Francesco Altamura), Maurizio Donadoni (colonnello Valente), Tony Sperandeo (Turi Mondello), Sebastiano Lo Monaco (avvocato Torrisi), Franco Castellano (assessore Cinisi), Laura Marinoni (Augusta) e Claudia Fiorentini (sorella di Turi Mondello).

English Synopsis
A woman investigates the shady dealings between her husband's bank and the mafia. She has a series of secret liaisons with a police captain, once her lover, just to pass on the information, but the passions of their love affair soon flare up again. Barbara tries to escape from her husband but she is discovered and finds herself trapped in a web of murder, politics, dark conflict and struggles for power.
Baroness Barbara Altamura is investigating the shady dealings between her husband’s bank and the Mafia. She has a series of secret liasons with the captain Carlo Arcuti, her one time lover, in order to pass on the information and gradually the smoldering passions of their love affair ignites once again. Barbara tries to escape from her husband, but she is caught and finds herself trapped in a tangled web of murder, politics and ruthless power struggles within the mafia. In the end, with Carlo’s help, she manages to break free, but before they can start their new life together, Carlo discovers more than he should about the cold-hearted mafia…

How use .REV files

Recovery Volumes (.rev)

Recovery volumes or .rev files are special files which can be created by WinRAR/RAR and allow you to reconstruct missing and damaged files in a volume set. They can
only be used with multi-volume archives.

This feature may be useful for backups or, for example, when you post a multivolume archive to a newsgroup and some of the subscribers did not receive some files. Reposting recovery volumes instead of usual volumes may reduce the total number of files to repost.

Each recovery volume is able to reconstruct one missing RAR volume. For example, if you have 30 volumes and 3 recovery volumes, you are able to reconstruct any 3 missing volumes. If the number of .rev files is less than a number of missing volumes, reconstructing is impossible. The total number of usual and recovery volumes must not exceed 255 and the number of recovery volumes must be less than the number of RAR volumes.

WinRAR reconstructs missing and damaged volumes either when clicking on .rev file, or when using rc command or automatically, if it cannot locate the next volume and finds the required number of .rev files when unpacking.

You may use the "Recovery volumes" option in the Archive name and parameters dialog or a similar option also appears in the Protect archive command to create recovery volumes. In the command line mode you may do it with -rv switch or rv command.

Original copies of damaged volumes are renamed to *.bad before reconstruction. For example, volname.part03.rar will be renamed to volname.part03.rar.bad.
