L'Altra Verità (2010)

Liverpool, agosto 1976. Fergus ha cinque anni. Al suo primo giorno di scuola incontra Frankie e da allora saranno inseparabili. Da adolescenti, marinano la scuola e bevono sidro sul traghetto sul fiume Mersey, sognando viaggi in tutto il mondo. Fergus non immagina certo che un giorno realizzerà quel sogno, diventando un soldato delle forze speciali inglesi, il SAS.
Dopo il congedo, nel settembre del 2004 Fergus convince Frankie (che ora è un ex-parà) a unirsi alla sua squadra di contractor a Baghdad. 10mila sterline al mese, pulite. La loro ultima occasione di "fare un po' di soldi" in quella guerra sempre più privatizzata. Insieme, rischiano la vita in una città dominata da violenza, terrore e avidità, e inondata di dollari americani. Nel settembre del 2007 Frankie viene ucciso sulla Route Irish, la strada più pericolosa del mondo. Fergus torna a Liverpool disperato: non accetta la versione ufficiale dei fatti, e comincia la sua personale indagine sulla morte dell'amico.
Solo Rachel, la vedova di Frankie, capisce quanto sia profondo il dolore di Fergus, e quali pericolose conseguenze potrebbe avere la rabbia che si porta dentro. Mentre Fergus cerca di scoprire la verità sulla morte di Frankie, lui e Rachel si avvicinano. Liverpool, in August 1976. Fergus is five years old. On his first day of school meets Frankie and then they will be inseparable. As a teenager, skipping school and drinking cider on the ferry on the River Mersey, dreaming of traveling around the world. Fergus never imagined that one day will realize that dream, becoming a soldier of the British special forces, the SAS.
After his discharge in September 2004 Fergus convinces Frankie (who is now an ex-paratrooper) to join its team of contractors in Baghdad. 10 thousand pounds a month, clean. Their last chance to "do a bit 'of money" in that war increasingly privatized. Together, they risk their lives in a city dominated by violence, fear and greed, and covered in U.S. dollars. In September 2007, Frankie was killed on Route Irish, the most dangerous in the world. Fergus returns to Liverpool desperate not accept the official story, and begins his own investigation into the death of his friend.
Only Rachel, the widow of Frankie, you know how deep the pain of Fergus, and which could have dangerous consequences of the anger that is inside. As Fergus tries to discover the truth about Frankie's death, he and Rachel are approaching. Meanwhile, Fergus tries to find himself and happiness shared years earlier with Frankie on that ferry on the river Mersey.
