Sbarcati sull'isola dove la coppia di pensionati si è trasferita a vivere, figli e nipoti si ritrovano bloccati sull'isola a causa di un'improvvisa mareggiata che impedisce ai traghetti di raggiungere la costa. Il nutrito nucleo/cast composto tra gli altri da Pierfrancesco Favino, Stefano Accorsi e Carolina Crescentini, sarà costretto a fermarsi più a lungo del previsto sull'isoletta, sotto lo stesso opprimente tetto e in compagnia di numerosi parenti invadenti. Il confronto inevitabile farà riemergere antiche questioni in sospeso, riaccenderà conflitti e gelosie del passato, inquietudini e paure mai sopite. Ci sarà persino un colpo di fulmine, o forse è solo la tempesta che imperversa all'esterno.

Storyline
A big family that like any other one includes relatives that see each other often and others that rarely meet, reunite to celebrate the 50th wedding anniversary of grandma Alba and grandpa Pietro in a big Villa, on the island they moved to. Because of weather conditions they all remain stranded on the island and the idyll between them seems to be over.
