Days of Eclipse filmed in a psychedelic manner close to stream of consciousness, any distinct plot in the film is absent. Action set in Middle Asia - Krasnovodsk, Turkmenia.
Children doctor Dmitri Malyanov, geologist Vecherovskiy and war service engineer Snegovoy are colliding every day with a numerous people and their destinies, with an odd to them eastern reality. In a half-documentary manner, where black-and-white frames are mixed with color, Sokurov pictured the life of wretched town in Turkmenia, sick children, psychiatrical clinic and the Desert with a mixed sound in the background - radio retranslatons, symphony music and multilingual voices.
Long monologues of the characters; boy-angel, who asks non-childish questions and, finally, in the end of the film, the Ascension of the Malyanov's guardian angel.
